GARY L. CLASON
Gary L. Clason brings to the aviation industry and his consulting practice, a diversified culmination of knowledge and aviation experience that spans 35 years. Mr. Clason founded Aviation Technology 2000, Inc. in March 1998. He has held positions of responsibilities that include Assistant Vice President of Maintenance for Bombardier Business JetSolutions, Manager of Maintenance for AMR Combs Worldwide Flight Operations, Executive Vice President and Partner of Aviatrade, Inc.
He has been involved in several start-up companies as well as business expansions and restructuring all relating to corporate aviation operations, maintenance and management. His contributions to these programs have been in the development, implementation and management of maintenance tracking software with aircraft dispatch capabilities and computer based operational cost control and analysis systems. His involvement with these various organizations also includes budgeting, marketing, sales, personnel acquisition, training and management.
Mr. Clason's wealth of knowledge of aircraft maintenance, operations, acquisition, refurbishment and disposal has provided a natural progression for aircraft appraisal and market analysis. Through his company he offers appraisal and market analysis along with project management/consulting services for aircraft in pre-purchase inspection, refurbishment, retrofitting and new aircraft completions.
Throughout his career, Mr. Clason has worked extensively with the Federal Aviation Administration regarding maintenance and operation issues; developing and managing FAR 145 repair stations, FAR 135 Charter Certificates and management of turbine powered aircraft operating under Part 91 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. He has developed and managed Continuing Analysis and Surveillance programs and Internal Audit programs for various Part 135 operators. His knowledge of the FAR's allows him to offer through Aviation Technology 2000, Inc. conformity inspections, compliance and safety audits of FAR 135 charter operations and those aircraft and flight departments being operated under FAR Part 91.
Mr. Clason holds an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license and a Flight Engineer rating for a Boeing 727. Gary has hands-on experience regarding inspection, maintenance and repairs of most types of corporate aircraft and associated powerplants. He has lived and traveled abroad where he was Director of Aviation Maintenance for an International European Corporation. Upon returning to the United States, he continued to develop his marketing and technical service skills, writing inspection programs, maintenance budgets and consulting with new aircraft owners in establishing their flight departments.
Various law firms requiring expert testimony regarding aircraft maintenance, fractional ownership, charter operations, required aircraft equipment and aircraft value have retained Mr. Clason.
Gary is a member of the Dallas Professional Aviation Maintenance Association and serves as an accredited IS-BAO auditor through the Flight Safety Foundation. Aviation Technology 2000, Inc. is also a member of the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association.
